The Irish Hairdressing Council is delighted to announce our next IHC Connects session, taking place on Monday 9th November at 8pm on Zoom.

We’re welcoming Matthew McIlveen, Lead Educator at Chapter VI, to deliver a free session titled Beyond the Haircut: The Future of Hair Replacement.

Why this session, and why now

Hair loss changes more than someone’s appearance. For many clients it affects confidence and wellbeing, and it can quietly change their relationship with their hairdresser. But it doesn’t have to. Hair professionals already have the skills, the trust and the client relationships to play a much greater role in supporting people through hair loss.

What the session will cover

Matthew will explore:

  • The growing opportunities in men’s hair replacement and medical wigs

  • How the skills hairdressers already possess can open doors to a new area of the industry

  • The connection between client confidence, wellbeing and retention

  • Access to specialist services for people experiencing hair loss

  • How specialist education can help hair professionals take that next step

About our guest

Matthew is the Lead Educator at Chapter VI, a Northern Ireland-based business specialising in hair replacement, professional education and specialist hair care. With experience across salons and hair replacement clinics, he is passionate about bridging the gap between traditional hairdressing and specialist hair loss services.

Chapter VI works with both professionals and individuals, providing specialist hair replacement products, education and support. Through its partnership with Gainfort Academy, Chapter VI is bringing training in men’s hair replacement and medical wigs to hairdressers and barbers across Ireland, creating new opportunities for professionals and improving access to services for people experiencing hair loss.

Because losing your hair shouldn’t mean losing your hairdresser.
