Fiona Gainfort
President
Based in Wexford, Fiona brings 30 years of industry experience to the Council. She’s passionate about driving innovation in Irish hairdressing and works nationally with ETBs, playing a key role in the National Hairdressing Apprenticeship in Dundalk.
Fiona and her husband Michael run Gainfort Hair & Beauty Supplies, Gainfort Salon Design, and Gainfort Academies in Wexford and Waterford—multiple award-winners, including RSVP’s Leading Beauty School and Pro Beauty Supplier of the Year. Fiona was also named Director of the Year at the 2023 Women of Vision Awards.

Melissa Hayward
Vice-President
Founder of the multi award-winning Melissa Hayward Academy, Melissa has been a leader in hair extensions for over 23 years. She began at Zoo Salon in New York and later opened her own salon in Dublin, transforming thousands of clients, including celebrities, on TV, film and editorial sets.
Now, she’s passionate about teaching stylists to master hair extensions with confidence and skill, helping them create life-changing results for clients. She insures every student leaves feeling capable, confident, and in control of their future.

Bridget Haren
Executive Board Member
From Ennis, Bridget has over 20 years in the industry and previously served as Council President. A key figure in developing the new Hairdressing Apprenticeship, she opened her award-winning salon in 2009, which has grown into a thriving business.
Bridget is a celebrated stylist, with accolades at national and international levels, as well as multiple business awards.

Anita Kirby
Executive Board Member
Anita brings over 48 years of experience in education and trichology. She studied with The Trichological Society in London, becoming Ireland’s first fully qualified L.T.T.S Trichologist.
Anita taught at St. John’s Central College for 24 years, led national examinations, and was instrumental in the creation of the National Hairdressing Apprenticeship. She has chaired and supported several educational groups and competitions, always advocating for excellence and integrity in the industry.

Debbie O'Keeffe Crinnion
Executive Board Member
Creative, versatile and education-focused with 25+ years of experience, she’s run salons, an academy, and collaborated with leading industry names.
Debbie brings her "Passion + Purpose" mindset to everything she does, always learning alongside her students and empowering them with confidence and practical skills.

Maeve O'Healy-Harte
Honorary Lifetime President
Maeve, with 40+ years in the industry, is a passionate advocate for the future of hairdressing. Deeply involved in the Apprenticeship programme, she urges everyone to get involved with the Council and stay positive about the profession’s future.
She holds multiple qualifications in education and business and is a global award-winner, including OMC World titles and prestigious international honours with Intercoiffure Mondial and AIPP Europe.
