OMC Hairworld
OMC, short for Organisation Mondiale Coiffure, is the leading global authority in the hair, beauty, and nails industry. Founded in 1946 in Lyon, France, OMC has grown to represent over 50 member countries and millions of beauty professionals worldwide.

OMC’s flagship event is the OMC Hairworld, a spectacular, world-class competition often likened to the “Hair Olympics,” where stylists, beauty therapists, and nail artists from all five continents gather to compete, exhibit technical excellence, and celebrate artistic innovation.
They also run dynamic educational programmes, such as the Travelling Academy, Global Certification, Look & Learn Master Classes, and the intensive OMC X-TREME course, to elevate the skills of professionals globally.

Competitions at Hairworld are judged by expert panels, and winners receive prestigious awards including: OMC Global Awards, Spirit Awards, Lifetime Achievement Awards, and the much-coveted Leo Passage Creative Award.

The Irish Hairdressing Council and OMC share a passion for excellence, training, and celebrating artistry in hairdressing. Many Irish professionals have taken part in OMC competitions and showcased their talent on the global stage.

Maeve O’Healy-Harte is the IHC’s point person and Ireland Manager for OMC, helping to bridge the two organisations for Irish members.
Our members can get involved by competing, training, networking, and championing Irish creativity on the world stage, all supported by OMC’s global framework.
